Founded
Here on this site on 7th September 1892.
Previous to this we have no exact date. Wheelock employed over 3,000 people in 5 saltworks and in 3 breweries plus other trades.
We started life in the forge salt and iron works they had their own doctors and nurses plus health visitors.
They decided that they had to provide a church for the workers as well. A shed was transformed into a church where our ancestors worshipped.
In 1890 the salt work closed down and this church we are in was built.
Now the highways have added traffic lights to the junction we are on, so that is a good place to recognise where to find us.
Our Mission
To tell others about Jesus and His power to save us from sins we have committed.
Jesus died on the cross to provide a way of Salvation. He is the only way to get to heaven.
By asking Jesus for forgiveness of our sins and then following His teaching in the Bible, we are sure of a home in heaven.
Jesus has healing power still to this day and we have seen this power in action amongst us.
It was in 1965 I asked Jesus into my life. He as helped me although my life in times of illness and accidents, He has never let me down, and He won't let you down.
